“How do I manifest?”
So many people have asked this question to me – friends, clients, family and even some strangers… manifesting comes when you sit uncomfortably with your true self. You take a personal inventory of what you want your life to look like, in a realistic sense. The thing is, it is not just about speaking things into existence like many people think. Manifesting almost always goes to much deeper levels than that!
If it was easy to make what we want happen then everyone in the world would be living their fantasy lives. If you are someone who feels called to follow the moon cycles and find interest in that realm, pair your manifesting rituals/practices with the New Moon each month. I find that my dreams flourish in magical ways when paired properly with the cycles of the moon. However, these things can be done any day of the week, any time of the day, and any month of the year. You do not need to be a “spiritual” person to start attracting what you desire in your life. With that being said, you may start to feel more connected with the world around you the more you learn that connecting with your higher self is what brings the most personal growth.
When we manifest, we have work to do. There are many practices to help you in getting your thoughts and dreams to come to fruition when you are willing to DO THE WORK. I want to take a second to bring attention to the word willing – there is nothing easy when it comes to personal growth. Change is uncomfortable, and it is supposed to be! It’s so important to the time to truly check in with yourself and what’s important to you in the bigger picture of your life.
You should always start by setting an intention. This intention can be anything you want, but imperatively, it should be a personal and self-empowering one. You want to focus on something that will help you grow. If you have trouble finding one, this is where meditation comes in! Meditate and try to connect with your “inner seeds” or interior viewpoints looking to be carried out in your life.
When looking at the intentions as seeds, think to yourself… what is the water and the sun that will help your seeds to grow? This will vary with every goal you have. Sit down and write it out. Make a step-by-step plan; define what you need to do so your manifestations can be attained.
If you don’t know your sun and water, this is another thing you can use meditation for. Get onto your mat, sit on the floor, find somewhere safe, and explore your soul! You always want to start by focusing and finding your inner breath. Let your intention encompass your mind. Ask to yourself… “What can I do to help this dream come to completion?”
Allow your mind to wander. Let your ideas explore different pathways. Any time you notice your mind straying away from your intention, repeat the same question to yourself in your head or out loud. Remind yourself of your purpose. Use mindfulness to go inward toward that moment and that idea solely.
If you are someone who struggles to meditate, feel free to move in your body! Do some heart opening poses, anything that exposes your heart space. Allow yourself to surrender to the moment. Find a cozy place in your home and let your mind and body flow! If you are someone who visualizes things, break out some markers and some paper! Sketch what you envision for yourself. It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to make sense to you.
As I mentioned, any form of creativity is a great way to further explore your intentions. Personally, I often meditate or do yoga and create any form of art afterwards. Whether it is writing poetry, drawing with markers, doodling on my tablet, or journaling – it all helps build the bridge to your goal’s completion.
Finally, if you are truly interested in manifesting real change in your life then you need to be consistent. This isn’t a one and done type of thing, it is a change in mindset. Trusting that the universe will bring you what you are trying to attract is vital.
You must have faith that whatever happens is meant to happen. In life, we all have our own paths. Some people get given more detours than others, throwing them out to different roads and exits. Some people get no detours at all, allowing them to choose which street to follow. Either way, the only person who can change your path is you. If a detour is given, you reroute. If you plan your trip in advance and set yourself up for the best outcome, you will see a very different journey than if you had not.
Featured to the left is an image I drew after my ritual last full moon. I envisioned this in my brain and later found words and real-life things that could synonymously fit within this drawing. I hope you enjoy!
